Note: Kevin Mayer is still world record holder in the “Age Category”. At 21 years and 21 days old his 6279 heptathlon is the best ever in this classification. (No one younger has achieved a better result.) Last summer Thomas van der Plaetsen did the third best series of jumps ever in a multi-event (Olympic Games)! (Pappas 2985 p/Eaton 2974 p/ vd Plaetsen 2963 p = 766/216/540). Helcelet and Sykora this year (2017) pb in Heptathlon and the rest of the field there heptathlon-pb’s are from at least 2 years ago!
