The European Cup Combined Events Second League match, organised by Athletic Club Maribor 98, took place on 2-3 July at the athletic stadium Poljane in Maribor.
64 contestants took part in the team competition, with seven teams competing for the top two places in the team competition which would earn them promotion to next year's First League.
In the men’s competition Belarus won by nearly 1400 points with a total score of 22604 points, thanks to their leading athletes finishing in first, fourth and eighth positions. Aleksandr Parkhomenko was the overall winner and the only athlete to score over 8000 points with a new personal best of 8025. 21-year-old Dimitriy Sobolev was fourth with 7422, a personal best by over 300 points, and 20-year-old Mikhail Chubenok was eighth with 7428 points.
Greece finished in second place with 21227 points and Sweden third with 19318 points.
