Mikk Pahapill will not compete in Götzis, his first decathlon take place in Ratingen! |

there was an article on iaaf.org in April saying Pahapill would compete - but probably your information is a little more up to date. pity actually on his website Romain Barras also announced to participate in Götzis - but now they're saying he's injure, so maybe he won't be able to make it. |

I've read the article about Pahapill too, but Janek should be the expert for the Estonians Unfortunately Arthur Abele cannot compete in Götzis, but 4 out 5 who can make the team (in my opinion) for Berlin will be there. Ah, Arnold again after Desenzano as Schwarzl. What about the Cubans? CAC-Champs the same weekend ... |

So Garcia and Diaz will be in Götzis. Does Suarez start at the NACAC championships (where is the entry list?) or only in Ratingen? Missing names: Suarez (?), Abele and Niklaus (injured), Karpov (?), Sysoyev (?), ... Bryan Clay will not there as a spectator, he is preparing for Eugene (what I've read) Here are my top 10: 1. Kravchenko 2. Hardee (if he don't "nh" in PV) 3. Smith 4. Sebrle (new PB in DT, maybe I should put him up) 5. Behrenbruch 6. Schrader 7. Drozdov 8. Martineau 9. Garcia 10. Müller (11. Kasyanov) (12. Raja) (13. Arnold) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My events winners: 100m: Hardee LJ: Kravchenko SP: Smith HJ: Kravchenko 400m: Diaz (Hardee, Kravchenko) 110mH: Smith (Hardee) DT: Smith PV: Kravchenko/Hardee (see above ) JT: Wiberg 1500m: Xhonneux For those who can watch ORF Sport Plus: Tonight the will show the highlights from 2008 http://tv.orf.at/program/orfsportplus/20090527 (o.k. tonight ist Champions League night) and on the weekend live coverage http://tv.orf.at/program/orfsportplus/20090530 ... and weather forecast for Vorarlberg: http://wetter.vol.at |

Roman is in the best form for the past 3 years. He made the perfect training without injuries and illnesses and so I expect his victory I think that he is able to make 3 PBs in SP, DT and PV (yes, in pole vault - let us surprise you ) Im affraid that the most difficult opponent will be the weather Good luck ! |

Weather forecast is o.k. http://wetterstationen.meteomedia.de/messnetz/fore... Good to hear that Sebrle is in good shape! Kravchenko disappeared from the entry list on iaaf.org too So it's gonna be close between Hardee, Sberle and Smith But I don't expect the highest scores ... |

I think, that Roman is gonna achieve 8500 pts. at least. He is in very good shape. He can still defeat the ,young boys´ |

Even if we had seen better results in Götzis - look at the result in LJ (in depth): 1 8 SCHRADER Michael GER 1.9 8.05 2 5 KASYANOV Oleksiy UKR 2.1 7.88 3 1 SEBRLE Roman CZE -0.1 7.86 4 17 SINTNICOLAAS Eelco NED 3.5 7.76 5 3 HARDEE Trey USA 0.8 7.74 6 18 COERTZEN Willem RSA 0.6 7.58 7 23 SCHWARZL Roland AUT 1.0 7.55 8 16 VOS Ingmar NED -0.5 7.53 9 22 WIBERG Nicklas SWE 1.7 7.52 10 10 RAJA Andres EST 0.6 7.48 11 12 MINAH Jacob GER 1.5 7.45 12 14 FRULLANI William ITA 0.7 7.43 13 11 MÜLLER Norman GER 1.2 7.42 14 7 MARTINEAU Eugene NED 0.6 7.40 Where are the statisticians? So, it was quite thrilling decathlon, thank you boys. I am looking forward to seeing Michael Schrader (amazing 8522!!, a new Hingsen or Busemann? It is high time) „live“ on stadium in Ratingen. I hope also that Roman Šebrle will be ready for Kladno, however, 8348 it is not bad, it is much better start than last year. Moreover, he was able to win (he lost 160pts in HJ). |

Some guys have upset our plans concerning the Jessica's and my predictions! Kravchenko and Diaz not there, Smith 'xxx' in LJ... So we have a tie (2:2) But I have an alternative in parentheses in 110m hurdles, so she won |

Indeed it was thrilling ... and again a nice weekend in Götzis, although some names were missing - looking forward to next year! It looked like Garcia and Diaz were not allowed to travel to Götzis and they had to start in Havana instead. Does anybody know why Kravchenko did not compete? Is he injured? And Karpov, Sysoyev, Pogorelov? Will some of them start in Kladno? |

I didn't expect that kind of competition, especially after the entry list was reduced even further with Krauchanka the Cubans (really good result by Garcia though in Habana) missing and Smith Drozdov out of the competition quite early. But the conditions were great (except for the wind sometimes - but at least it was not too hot as in earlier years) And I hope next year some more "names" are going to compete... |
